Iowa Man Accused Of Killing Three Women In Utah Arrested In Colorado
(Iowa) — The southeastern Iowa man accused of killing three women in Utah has been arrested in Colorado. Investigators say two men who were hiking with their wives in Pagosa Springs, Utah, called police after finding their bodies. Another woman was found dead in her home about fifteen miles away. Twenty-two-year-old Ivan Miller of Wapello County is facing three charges of aggravated murder. Prosecutors haven’t revealed a motive, and say Miller had no connection to the area or the unidentified suspects.
No Leads After Thursday Search For Missing Woman With Alzheimer’s In Ringgold County
(Iowa) — The Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office spent all day Thursday searching for a missing woman with Alzheimer’s disease, but did not find her. Ringgold County Sheriff Rob Haley says between 50 and 75 people participated in the search, along with ATVs, drones, K9s, and an Iowa State Patrol plane. 78-year-old Cheryl Anderson was last seen driving away from her Cumming home in a Toyota Sienna Tuesday afternoon. Sheriff Haley says the empty minivan was found by a farmer who called the Sheriff’s Office after recognizing the vehicle on the evening news.
Flags Flown At Half Staff In Honor Of Iowa Soldiers Killed In Iranian Drone Strike
(Iowa) — Flags are being lowered to half-staff to honor Major Jeffery O’Brien and Sergeant Declan Coady, the two Iowa soldiers killed in an Iranian drone strike in Kuwait. Governor Kim Reynolds ordered all flags on public buildings, grounds, and facilities to remain lowered until sunset on the final day of interment. Both soldiers served with the Des Moines-based 103rd Sustainment Command and were among six U.S. soldiers killed in the March 1st attack.
Iowa Ranks Low on List of States with Highest Energy Price Increases
(Iowa) — A new national study finds energy prices are rising less in Iowa than in most other states. Insurance comparison site iSelect examined data from the U.S. Energy Affordability Index on energy costs since 2019. Iowa ranked 43rd on the list of 48 states where energy prices have risen during that time, with an increase of about five-and-a-half percent. On average, Iowans are spending just under two-percent of their monthly income on electricity bills.
