(Des Moines) The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued an Enhanced Risk (Level 3 of 5) for severe weather this afternoon and evening. This means there is a moderate likelihood of significant weather impacts, including:
- Large Hail
- Damaging Winds
- A Few Tornadoes
These hazards could pose significant threats to safety and property, so it’s important to stay alert.
While severe weather is possible throughout much of the area, southwest Iowa is under the highest threat level. Local communities in this region should be particularly vigilant as conditions could deteriorate rapidly after 5 PM.
