(Atlantic) “Growing in Nature” is the theme of The Cass County Master Gardeners Spring seminar. Event coordinators state this year’s theme welcomes anyone interested in learning more about local garden topics.
Kate Olson, Iowa State University Extension Cass County Program Coordinator, says the 2026 Spring Garden Seminar will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, at the Cass County Community Center.
Olson says the morning will feature three presentations on timely garden topics. David McKinney with the Iowa Arboretum will open the program at 9 a.m. with a session titled “Gardening in a Changing World.”
Dr. Cindy Haynes of Iowa State University will follow with “Creating a Cut Flower Garden.”
McKinney will return for the final presentation, “Non-Native Plant Heroes.
The program will wrap up shortly after noon with a brief closing and giveaways. Participants can also create a custom “pollinator puddler” at a make-and-take station to use in their own gardens.
Registration is $30 per person through March 21 and includes refreshments and materials. After that, the fee is $35 per attendee for regular and walk-in registration. Registrations are nonrefundable but may be transferred with advance notice.
