(Carroll, IA) — Carroll will host Saydel in a Class 3A boys basketball district semifinal tonight. The Tigers have gone from a 10-13 team a year ago to the 6th ranked team in the state and is 18-5. Carroll is led by Senior Jared Mohr who averages 15.2 points per game. Head Coach Randy Bissen knows that the Eagles will throw a 2-3 zone at him tonight and he has other weapons that can attack that
Saydel is 14-8 and also is an improved team from last year after going 10-11 — the Eagles are led by Senior Gage Moreno who is extremely athletic and Bissen says he can put points on the board in bunches
Carroll has been hovering around the 500 mark the last three seasons but has made a big jump this season. Bissen says the reason for the improvement is getting everybody involved in the offense
Carroll hosts Saydel in the 3A district semifinals tonight — the winner will play the winner of Sioux Center at MOC Floyd Valley in the Substate Finals next Monday.
