(Fort Worth, TX) — Number 12 ranked TCU rallied from 13 points down in the 4th quarter to extend their home court winning streak to 41 games beating Iowa St. 80-73 in a Big 12 women’s basketball game on Sunday.
The Horned Frogs trailed 66-53 with just under eight minutes to go in the game before Olivia Miles took over the game. She scored 15 of her game high 26 points in the final five minutes. Miles scored six points in a row to spark a 16-4 run to get her team back in the game. Taylor Bigby hit a big triple to cut the ISU lead to 70-69 with 2:54 left. Miles got the go ahead jumper for the Frogs, hit two free throws and buried another shot and TCU led by five. TCU outscored Iowa St. 31-15 in the 4th quarter.
Audi Crooks led Iowa St. (21-7, 9-7) with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists but also fouled out in the game. Jada Williams had a double double with 15 points and 11 assists. Addy Brown added 11 points and 7 rebounds.
Besides Miles, TCU (25-4, 13-3) got 19 points from Marta Sanchez and Clara Silva added 11. The Horned Frogs have a one game lead in the Big 12 standings ahead of Baylor and West Virginia at 12-4. Texas Tech and Colorado are tied for 4th at 11-5. The Cyclones are tied for 7th with Arizona St.
Iowa St. has two games left in the regular season — they will host Oklahoma St. on Wednesday night and visit Kansas St. on Sunday, March 1.
