(Adair Co.) The Adair County Board of Supervisors has begun the process of repealing its pipeline ordinance.
Adair County used Shelby County’s ordinance as a model when creating its own. Supervisor Jodie Hoadley explained that she had spoken with Steve Kenkel, who was a Shelby County supervisor at the time their pipeline ordinance was enacted. Kenkel said they had been legally advised to repeal their ordinance, and Adair County has likewise been advised to repeal its own.
Adair County Auditor Mandy Berg said she spoke with the county attorney, who agreed it is in the county’s best interest to repeal the pipeline ordinance.
The board approved a motion to pursue repeal of the ordinance. Next week’s agenda will include an action item to set the public hearing.
