(Harlan) The Harlan City Council on Tuesday evening approved the final reading amending the snow emergency violations.
In the event of a snow emergency, no person shall park, abandon, or leave unattended any vehicle on any public street or alley during any snow emergency unless the snow has been removed or plowed from the street or alley, and the snow has ceased to fall. During a snow emergency, parking is prohibited on all streets unless the cleaning operations have been completed.
Harlan Street Superintendent Jeff Musich says the amended ordinance would benefit everyone.
Meanwhile, under the ordinance, parking is permitted in City-owned parking lots during a snow emergency. The City Council passed the third and final reading of the amended ordinance by a 6-0 vote.
