(Atlantic, IA) — In girls basketball playoffs tonight, Atlantic will entertain Van Meter in the first round of Class 3A, Region 2, coverage on KS 95.
The Trojans finished the season at 12-8 and are led by Senior Katrina Williams at 11.2 ppg and 8.1 rbg. Senior Makenna Schroeder averages 9.6 ppg and 2.6 assists per game. Senior Zoey Kirchhoff averages 8.3 ppg. Head Coach Dan Vargason says this team has overcome injuries and other obstacles to accomplish some of their goals
Van Meter is 12-9 and led by Junior Avery Banks at 9.9 ppg. Van Meter is shooting just 24.9 percent from three point land compared to 30.1 percent for Atlantic. There is no one dominant player for the Bulldogs but Vargason says do not be deceived, they have some dangerous weapons.
