(Maryville) Three suspects are in custody following a pursuit that began in Cass County, Iowa, and ended in Missouri.
The Nodaway County, Missouri, Sheriff’s Office says the pursuit ended near the east side of Maryville near Highway 71 and Highway 136 this morning. The suspects fled on foot, and all three have since been apprehended.
The Atlantic Police Department released the following information:
At approximately 04:25 this morning, the Cass County Communications Center received a call from a security company of door and motion alarms at Nishna Valley Cycle in Atlantic. Officers with the Atlantic Police Department arrived on scene by 4:29 AM and found that there was damage caused to the side of the building and there appeared to be missing inventory. A preliminary review of on-site cameras show a large box truck type vehicle utilized a strap to hook onto the doors and pull them open. Three individuals enter the building and load four dirt bikes into the back of the vehicle. The vehicle then leaves the parking lot.
A Deputy with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office located a box truck traveling south on Highway 71 that matched the description of the vehicle seen on video. When the Deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the box truck began eluding. Several law enforcement agencies assisted with the pursuit of the box truck through multiple counties. The box truck was eventually stopped in Nodaway County Missouri.
The stolen property is being processed for recovery.
The Atlantic Police Department was assisted by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Adams County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Page County Sheriff’s Office, Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, Clarinda Police Department, and the Nodaway County, Missouri Sheriff’s Office.
