(Des Moines) The Iowa Beef Industry Council (IBIC) and the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association (ICA) have announced the return of the annual Iowa’s Best Burger Contest, inviting Iowans to once again recognize their favorite burgers while supporting local restaurants across the state.
Now in its 17th year, the contest has become a popular tradition connecting consumers, cattle producers, and the foodservice industry through a shared appreciation for high-quality Iowa beef. Each year, thousands of nominations are submitted by residents who vote for burgers that stand out for flavor, creativity, and overall quality.
The contest is open to restaurants across Iowa that serve burgers made with a 100 percent real beef patty on a bun or other bread product.
Nominations open February 9, 2026, and close March 9, 2026, at 5 p.m. The Top Ten finalists will be announced March 13. The overall winner will be revealed May 1, coinciding with the start of May Beef Month in Iowa.
Consumers can nominate their favorite burger at www.iabeef.org.
