(Guthrie Center, IA) — AC/GC boys wrestling will be heading east for their district tournament this Saturday — the Chargers will be at Colfax Mingo High School and will the only school that is west of Interstate 35. The toughest bracket seems to be at 150 pounds and that is where Ryder Cline sits at. The Junior is 38-3 and ranked #11 in Class 1A while Ayden Groom of North Mahaska is ranked 2nd and Brett Johnson of Moravia is ranked #5. Only two wrestlers from each weight class go to state but AC/GC Head Coach Lane Rumelhart says Cline does not shy away from any challenge
AC/GC is also strong at 215 and 285 and both bigger weights will be tough. Senior Jack Sheeder is ranked #12 at 285 at 34-11 — Tegan Dybevik of Colfax Mingo is ranked #8 and Ben Squires of Lynnville Sully has 38 wins. At 215, Senior Carter Richter is ranked #8 at 39-4 and will have to face Braxton Plants of Montezuma who is 53-1 and ranked 2nd in the state
Lane Stringer is 19-11 at 157 and Brendan Carlson is 23-21 at 175 and both guys are under the radar and their brackets have possibilities says Rumelhart
