(Washington D.C.) Representative Zach Nunn, of Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District, provided an update on government funding during an interview with KSOM/KS95 Radio this week.
Nunn said Senate Democrats declined to pass the final appropriations package unless it included policy riders related to ICE and DHS. As a result, the government went into a partial shutdown until the House passed the package this week.
Nunn highlighted some of the wins he secured in the appropriations process.
Nunn said, “These things going forward together not only keep the government open, it pushes back on some of the extreme elements in Washington D.C., both on the left and on the right, who are trying to win on polictical points but are forgetting the fact that taxpayers sent them to Washington to do a job; take care of their money, invest in our communities, and grow our future.”
