(Waukee) Atlantic swimmers Hunter Quist, and Teagan Kinzie qualified for the Iowa High School State Swimming Meet on Saturday at Waukee. The top 32 swimmers qualify for the state meet. Quist qualified with the 26th fastest time in the 100 Yard Breaststroke. Kinzie qualified with the third fastest time in the 100 Freestyle para, and sixth fastest in the 50 Yard Freestyle para.
High School Swimmers from across the State of Iowa on Saturday competed at eight district sites at Ames, Dubuque Senior, Johnston, Linn-Marr, Mason City, and Waukee.
Quist finished ninth in the 100 Yard Breaststroke in 1:01.68. Kinzie clocked a 1:20.11 in the 50 Yard Para, and 3:16.88 in the 100 Yard Para at Waukee.
The state swim meet will be held on February 13, and February 14, at the University of Iowa’s Campus Recreation and Wellness Center starting 5:00 p.m. on Friday the 13th,, and Noon on Saturday, the 14th.
