(NAFB) Late last week, the USDA reported that during a routine inspection at an equine import facility in Florida, a horse arriving from Argentina was found with an open wound containing New World Screwworm larvae. Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller says inspection and quarantine protocols worked exactly as they should.
Miller is encouraging ranchers to continue regular animal checks and report anything unusual, calling routine vigilance a simple but effective way to protect livestock and the broader ag industry.
