(Oakland, IA) — Riverside will be sending three girls to the state wrestling tournament beginning tomorrow in Coralville, IA; coverage on KSOM.
At 100 pounds, Jersey Hilgenberg is seeded #4 with a record 35-5 — the Sophomore will face Goldie Davis, a freshman from South Central Calhoun who is 44-11 and is seeded 13th. Hilgenberg went 0-2 at state last year and Riverside Head Coach Ben Dorr expects that to change
At 115 pounds, Hailey Harvey is also seeded 4th with a record of 41-1 — the Sophomore will face Addison Buseman, a junior from Janesville who is 32-15 and is the 13 seed. Harvey went 1-2 at state last year but she has picked up the pace this year says Dorr
Finally at 145 pounds, McKenna Dorr is making her first trip to state — the Sophomore is 21-5 and will face a familiar opponent in the first round — Junior Bailey Lillard from SWAT who is 25-8. Dorr beat her in the regionals by fall at 2:49
Riverside will be in the first session when the Class 1A wrestlers hit the mat Thursday morning at 10:00 am, we will have coverage of the girls state wrestling tournament throughout the two day event on KSOM.
