(Onawa, IA) — Three suspicious fires in Onawa are now being investigated by the ATF. One of them burned down the grandstand at the Monona County Fairgrounds.
The fairgrounds fire on Wednesday and two others that were set on Monday, January 26th are being investigated for arson. No one was injured but firefighters say some equipment was damaged, including the newest Onawa fire engine that was put in circulation in 2024.
The Onawa Kiwanis Club is hosting a pancake breakfast on March 14th with benefits going to the fire department and rebuilding the grandstands.
