(Atlantic) Five area producers were recognized for their contributions to the community and the cattle industry during the 2026 Cass County Cattlemen’s Award Banquet, held Saturday evening at the Cass County Community Center in Atlantic. The banquet is held with the Cass County Corn and Soybean Growers.
Each year, the Cass County Cattlemen give out five awards. The Young Gun Award, Riding the Brand, Business of the Year Award, and Producer of the Year Award. The final award of the evening is the Hall of Fame award. This year’s recipient is Jim Comes of Atlantic. The honor was presented to him by two of his granddaughters, Lola and Lauren Comes.

Carol and Mark Johnson Owners of the Downtowner Cafe received the 2026 Cass County Cattlemen’s Business of the Year Award.
The 2026 Royalty was introduced at Saturday’s banquet. This year’s Royalty are Addalyn Sonntag, Brookelyn Steffen, and Kole Sorensen.
