(Iowa City, IA) — Iowa women’s basketball team was facing the toughest test in their schedule and they passed with flying colors. The 10th ranked Hawkeyes won their 9th in a row and stayed undefeated in Big Ten play with a 91-70 win over #12 Ohio St. Iowa had to play three straight games against ranked opponents Michigan St., Maryland and the Buckeyes and beat them all.
Iowa led by as many as 23 in the 2nd half and shot 58 percent from the field while holding OSU to just 35 percent. The Hawkeyes outrebounded Ohio St. 48-30 and dominated in bench points, outscoring the Buckeyes 33-3.
Iowa did lose starting guard Taylor McCabe to an injury to her knee early in the game and she did not return. She did come out of the locker room to sit on the bench with an ice pack on her left knee. McCabe leads Iowa with three pointers made and averages 8.5 points per game.
Addie Deal led Iowa (18-2, 9-0) off the bench with 20 points despite going 1-7 from three point land. Hannah Stuelke and Ava Heiden each had 18 points — Stuelke added 15 rebounds. Chazadi Wright added 14.
Ohio St. (18-3, 7-2) was led by Jaloni Cambridge with 26 points including 6-9 on her threes.
