(Ames, IA) — Joshua Jefferson had a triple double as #9 Iowa St. broke a 2 game slide to beat Central Florida 87-57 in a Big 12 men’s basketball game on Tuesday night.
Jefferson had 17 points, 10 rebounds and a career high 12 assists for his 2nd triple double of the season. Jefferson is the first ISU player with multiple triple doubles in a season and the 2nd D-I one player this season with more than one.
The Cyclones started strong, leading 25-12 after the first part of the first half — they led 31-19 when the Knights had a 7-0 run to cut the lead to five. That is as close as UCF got as ISU went on a 13-0 run to end the half and led 44-26. Central Florida missed their last six shots and committed four turnovers in the final 5:45 of the half.
Iowa St. (17-2, 4-2) was led by Milan Momcilovic with 20 points going 4-8 on his three pointers. Jamarion Batemon and Killyan Toure each had 12 points and Blake Buchanan added 11.
UCF (14-4, 3-3) was led by Jordan Burks and Riley Kugel each with 15 points.
