(Missouri Valley, IA) — Missouri Valley hosted a boys and girls wrestling triangular with WIC rivals Riverside and Underwood on the boys side and Audubon in girls.
In the girls match, the Lady Reds went 2-0 beating Audubon 54-24 and beating Riverside 45-18. The Bulldogs got the win over the Wheelers 68-18.
Jersey Hilgenberg of Riverside beat Jordan Mulford of Audubon by fall at 2:00 in a battle of former state wrestlers. Hilgenberg went 2-0 with 2 falls. Makenna Dorr of Riverside beat Elena Harbour of Audubon by fall at 1:14. Sarah Cody and Rylei Price for Riverside both went 1-1 with a fall. Macy Rasmussen of Audubon did not have a match, getting two forfeits.
Riverside went 2-0 in the boys triangular winning over Missouri Valley 64-6 and Underwood 53-21. The Reds beat the Eagles 44-36.
The highlight match of the night was at 138 pounds as #1 ranked Drew Anderson of Riverside beat #8 ranked Luke Schroeder of Missouri Valley by major decision 13-5. Anderson won his 2nd match by tech fall. Also for the Bulldogs: Max Shanno went 2-0 with a tech fall and 9-6 decision. Kingston Carrigan went 2-0 with a 9-6 decision and 5-1 win. Maximus Applegate was 2-0 with 2 falls. Mason Houser, Wyatt Bell, Lucas Manzer all went 2-0 with a fall and a forfeit. Jaxon Gordon, ranked #5 at 165, went 2-0 with a 23-10 MD and a forfeit. Colton Herring went 2-0 with a MD and forfeit.
Underwood’s Jace Blum got a SV 16-13 win over Jack Branan of Riverside — Blum went 2-0 with a fall. Also for Underwood: Kaleb Nelson went 2-0 with 2 falls, Coltin Johnson went 2-0 with 2 falls and Ryan Fletcher went 2-0 with 2 falls.
