(Evanston, IL) — #8 Nebraska continued its historic run this season by destroying Northwestern 77-58 in a Big Ten men’s basketball showdown on Saturday.
The Huskers led at the half 34-29 and stretched their lead to 9 early in the 2nd half. Northwestern closed the gap to 5 at 46-41 but Nebraska answered with a 17-3 run to win the game in a run away.
Northwestern (8-10, 0-7) was led by Nick Martinelli with 22 points — Martinelli leads the nation in scoring averaging 23.8 per game. Tre Singleton added 14 points.
Nebraska (18-0, 7-0) was led by Pryce Sandfort with 22 points including 5-10 on his threes. Braden Frager came off the bench with 20 points. Sam Hoiberg added 12 points and 7 rebounds. The Huskers had just five turnovers.
