(Creston) The Creston Fire Department responded to a call Friday morning to assist an employee who became trapped in an elevator at Innovative Industries.
Firefighters were dispatched at 8:01 a.m. to reports of an employee stuck in an elevator between floors. Upon arrival, crews opened the elevator door on the first floor but found the elevator cab was not accessible from that level.
Firefighters then accessed the elevator from the second floor, where the cab floor was approximately 1.5 feet below floor level. Crews were able to safely assist the employee out of the elevator by 8:11 a.m.
Innovative Industries had already contacted elevator repair services in Des Moines. The Creston Fire Department completed the call by 8:15 a.m. and returned to the station.
