(Manning, IA) — The Western Iowa Conference is full of great basketball players and there may be none better than IKM Manning’s Ben Ramsey. The Senior leads the conference in scoring averaging 22.2 points per game. He is just 100 points away from 1,500 for his career and has over 300 assists and 300 rebounds for his career. Right now, the Wolves are 5-5 overall and tied for 4th in the conference with Riverside and Audubon but Ramsey believes this team can make some noise down the stretch
When teams play IKM Manning, Ramsey is the main focus but he has not been deterred and has found his way to score no matter what opponents throw at him
Ramsey has shot 77 free throws this year and is at 74 percent for the season. He has made 221 threes in his career, shooting 34 percent for his career. Last year he was 89-250 for 36 percent but this year is at 25 of 89 for 25 percent but he has been working on it
Ramsey credits his competitive drive to his two older brothers Luke and Nolan who are twins. He has had a great career in football too, throwing for over 4,000 yards and has 6 career records at IKM Manning. His focus now, though, is on basketball. The Wolves will be a tough out in the playoffs because of Ramsey and he wants to get at least to the substate finals. To do that, there are some things for his team to focus on he says
For college, Ramsey is looking at going to Buena Vista but is not sure about which sport he will play. IKM Manning will host Riverside on Friday and visit Exira EHK on Saturday.
