(Atlantic) The Atlantic School Board accepted the resignation of Board Member Laura McLean effective January 15th.
Laura McLean is relocating to the Quad Cities.
McLean said she wants to return to see the new buildings and renovations, and she looks forward to coming back to attend some graduation parties.
McLean received praise from the school board members, Board Secretary Lisa Jones, and Superintendent Dr. Beth Johnsen.
The vacancy must be filled within 30 days of notice from the retiring board member. Therefore, the school board is now seeking interested individuals to fill the seat. The board intends to fill the seat by appointment. Information on applying will be available on the Atlantic School Facebook page.
In other action, the board approved members to serve on the 2025-26 School Improvement Advisory Committee; an agreement between Owner and Architect and Proposal for Design Services from SVPA; and the Snyder & Associates Topographic Survey Services Agreement.
