(Lincoln, NE) — UCLA’s women’s basketball is ranked 4th in the country and they played like it on Sunday night beating up on #25 Nebraska 83-61.
The Bruins led most of the game — trailing 7-6 they went on a 10-3 run to lead 17-9 and led by 6 after the first quarter. UCLA led by as many as 14 in the 2nd quarter and took a 37-25 lead into the locker room. Nebraska got only get as close as 10 in the third quarter and the Bruins pushed their lead by 20 at the end of three quarters.
Lauren Betts led UCLA (15-1, 5-0) with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 blocks, Gianna Kenpkens had 16, Charlisse Leger-Walker had 14, Kaki Rice added 12 and Gabrela Jquez put in 11 — all five starters in double figures. Sienna Betts added 12 points off the bench.
Nebraska (14-3, 3-3) had five players in double figures led by Amiah Hargrove off the bench with 12 points, Logan Nissley had 11, and Jessica Petrie, Eliza Maupin and Callin Hake each added 10. Britt Prince was held to just 6 on 3-11 shooting.
