(Bloomington, IN) — Nebraska is having a basketball season to remember — the 10th ranked Huskers rallied from a 16 point deficit and beat Indiana 83-77 in a Big Ten game on Saturday.
The Hoosiers ended the first half on a 12-2 run and started the 2nd half on a 10-3 run to lead 49-33 with just over 17 minutes left in the game. Nebraska came alive as Sam Hoiberg hit a three pointer, Jamarques Lawrence flushed a three, Pryce Sandfort nailed a triple and the Huskers got back to back lay ups to come back and tie the game at 55-55. Sandfort would hit the go ahead three to make it 65-62.
Lawrence had a career high 27 points to lead Nebraska (16-0, 5-0). Rienk Mast had 13, Pryce Sandfort 12, Braden Frager had 11. The Huskers had just 8 turnovers and currently have the nation’s longest winning streak at 20 games. The Huskers started 5-0 in the conference for the first time since the 1965-66 season. The highest ranking Nebraska has been is #8 in that same season and could move up from #10 when the new rankings come out on Monday.
Lamar Wilkerson led Indiana (12-4, 3-2) with 31 points.
