(Council Bluffs) The Council Bluffs Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday morning, which left one woman injured.
At approximately 8:45 a.m., staff at CHI Mercy Hospital notified police that a female victim had been dropped off with a gunshot wound to the chest. Reports indicate that a male and a female dropped the victim off at the hospital before departing the premises.
Investigation showed the original incident occurred at 602 1st Avenue. Investigators secured the scene at that address and executed a search warrant. During the search, detectives recovered a discharged round, a casing, and forensic evidence consistent with the victim’s statement.
At this time, no suspects are in custody. This is an ongoing investigation.
