(Audubon, IA) — The Audubon boys basketball team will be trying to break a mini two game losing streak as they host Red Oak tonight, coverage on KSOM.
Audubon had a 12 point lead in the 4th quarter on Friday against Riverside but the lead vanished and the Bulldogs walked away with a 54-52 win. Head Coach Darran Miller says the priority over the winter break was defense, defense and defense and it is still a work in progress
Audubon has balanced scoring — Senior Brody Schultes leads at 11.2 ppg; Senior Austin Christensen is at 10.6 ppg and leads at 7.8 rebounds a game; Sophomore Aiden Kjergaard is at 10.4 ppg; Senior Carson Wessel 9.7; and Sophomore Jorgen Nowatzke is off the bench at 8.6 ppg. One area the Wheelers must improve at is reducing turnovers which are at 17 per game
The Wheelers defense will be tested tonight with Red Oak’s Junior Reese Montgomery who is 6-5 and averages 16.3 points and 14.9 rebounds a game. Miller says they will try to bang him inside with double teams
Audubon is 4-5, Red Oak 3-5, game time is 7:15 tonight, coverage on KSOM.
