(Houston, TX) — Iowa St. women’s basketball had no problems sending 2025 out with a 80-62 Big 12 win over Houston on Wednesday afternoon.
The first quarter was tight until Sydney Harris for the Cyclones drained a three with 44 seconds left to lead 17-14 at the end of the period. ISU led 23-20 early in the 2nd quarter and went on a mini 6-0 run to make it 29-20 but the Cougars answered with a 7-0 run to cut the lead to 2. Addy Brown hit a three pointer with 3:06 left in the first half to make it 32-27 and went on a 16-4 run the rest of the third quarter to lead 45-31 at the half.
Audi Crooks led the Cyclones with 35 points, 17-21 from the field and only had 1 foul shot — she added 13 rebounds. Jada Williams had a huge game with 16 points and 14 assists and says Iowa St. was expecting a challenge from the Cougars
Houston (6-7, 0-2) was led by Briana Peguero with 14 points and was only 4-8 from three point land while Iowa St. was an impressive 8-16 on their 3 point shots.
