(Des Moines, IA) — The National Weather Service in Des Moines has released the peak wind gusts around the state in the last 24 hours. The highest was reported by the Marshalltown Airport at 61 mph. The lowest was the Neil Smith National Wildlife Refuge in Jasper County just east of Des Moines at 47 mph.
Atlantic Airport best wind gust was reported to the NWS at 52 mph which was in the middle of the pack.
Reports of 45-55 mph were common across many locations. Winds will continue to diminish the rest of today (Monday).
