(Undated) — A lot of people start off the New Year with weight loss goals. Their success might come down to incremental changes in diet.
“You had a bad day, things fell apart, give yourself a break to begin again, to establish that intent that drives that habit change,” said Brian Smith, a dietician. “
Smith suggests eating more whole foods and reducing sugar intake. Smith says making better choices at the grocery store promotes overall wellness, not just weight loss.
“Pressure foods, less processed foods, once you start moving in that direction, you’ll automatically start consuming less sodium, and you’re going to increase your fiber intake generally.”
With the New Year approaching, Brian Smith says incremental diet changes are effective in changing eating behavior.
