(Ames, IA) — Houston Christian proved to be feisty but #3 Iowa St. got going and eventually pulled away from the Huskies winning 89-61 in their final non-conference game of the regular season.
Houston Christian stayed with the Cyclones for the first 15 minutes or so — ISU led 26-21 but D’Aundre Samuels made a dribble drive lay-up for the Huskies to cut the lead to three. Iowa St. then went on a 11-0 run capped by a Blake Buchanan dunk to take control. ISU led 41-28 at the half and they slowly and methodically pushed the lead forward in the 2nd half.
Joshua Jefferson led Iowa St. with 23 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks plus was 12-16 from the free throw line. Buchanan had a double double with 16 points and 11 rebounds and he said that HC hung around awhile and was difficult to put away

Milan Momcilovic had 13 points, Killyan Toure put in 11 and Tamin Lipsey had a strong line — 8 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds.
