(Cerro Gordo, County) A Firefighter directing traffic at an accident scene was struck by an SUV in Cerro Gordo County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the incident happened on Tuesday afternoon on Highway 18 near Balsam Avenue.
According to the report, 66-year-old Kevin Berry, of Britt, Iowa, was driving a 2015 Ford Escape that entered an accident scene from a previous collision, and struck a Ventura, Iowa, firefighter who was standing on the roadway directing traffic.
The injured firefighter was transported to MercyOne North Iowa Hospital for treatment.
The injured fireman’s name was not released.
