(Pella) Former Audubon star and Central College outstanding defensive back Gavin Smith was selected by the Associated Press to the All-America Division III First team, according to the Central College website. This is the second consecutive year this honor has been bestowed upon him. Smith snagged four interceptions and caused nine pass breakups this past season for the Dutch. Additionally, Smith recorded 38 tackles and forced one fumble. The All-American recognition comes on the heels of being named to the American Football Coaches Association’s All-America second team. Additionally, he us a back-to-back first team American Rivers All-Conference pick.
