(Guthrie Center, IA) — At Tuesday’s meeting of the Guthrie County Supervisors, the Guthrie County Library Association asked for an increase in funds for the coming fiscal year. Jerri Hawkins says that the library has become an essential community anchor and has asked for a 7 percent increase in funding
Hawkins says the library is slightly growing in rural circulation, children circulation, digital usage, the number of patrons, the door count, computer usage and wi fi usage. Hawkins says the library might receive a cut in government money
The Board of Supervisors did not take any action at the meeting and said they would consider the request when the start the budget process in January.
