(Creston) Authorities cited a driver after her vehicle struck a house in Creston.
Police responded to the scene at around 4:05 p.m. on Tuesday. When they arrived, they found a 2012 Suzuki passenger car in the side yard of the house at 505 N. Maple Street. The damaged home is next to the apartment building’s parking lot.
According to the police report, 61-year-old Nickie Rae Stovie of Creston, the driver of the car, stated she attempted to pull into a parking spot at the apartment building, went over the curb, down the hill, and struck the house. Police smelled the odor of alcohol from Stovie. Sobriety tests revealed a blood alcohol content of .08. Authorities found a shooter bottle under the front passenger seat. Officers cited Stovie for having an open container and failure to yield. No one was injured in the crash.
The house sustained $4,000 damage. The 2012 Suzuki received $6,000 damage.
