(Mills Co.) Two Omaha residents were taken into custody early Sunday morning after a traffic stop in Mills County led to the discovery of multiple illegal drugs.
According to the Mills County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped a vehicle shortly before 5 a.m. for an equipment violation. After detecting the odor of narcotics, deputies searched the vehicle and found 40 grams of methamphetamine, 13 grams of marijuana, and 279 prescription pills that were unlawfully possessed.
The driver, 48-year-old James William Eads Jr., and the passenger, 43-year-old Diana L. Dubas, were both arrested. They are each charged with trafficking more than five grams but less than five kilograms of methamphetamine, failure to affix a drug tax stamp, possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of a prescription drug.
Eads and Dubas are being held in the Mills County Jail.
