(Sioux City, IA) — A Sioux City man has been sentenced to ten years in prison for stabbing his cousin in the head. Tariq Thomas was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to willful injury causing serious injury. Thomas’ cousin was found with a knife blade in his head and a stab wound to his collarbone back in October. Woodbury County attorneys agreed to drop additional charges in exchange for the guilty plea and a quick resolution. The victim, Saville Thomas, had surgery to remove the knife blade and has since recovered.
