(Des Moines) Over 800 snowplows spent the weekend clearing the roads across Iowa after a winter storm dropped a foot or more of snow in parts of the state. Craig Bargfrede is with the Iowa Department of Transportation.
“Unfortunately, we did have some folks that did not heed our warnings,” said Bargfrede. “We did have five plows across the state that were struck. More of those were re-end accidents.”
He cautions drivers to expect a plow in a snow plume and adjust their speed and distance to avoid hitting them.
