The new Greenfield Municipal Pool will include a zero-entry area, stairs with handrails, lap lanes, modern filtration systems, a new bathhouse, and a new concession stand. In addition to improved accessibility and energy-efficiency features, both the high dive and low diving board will be retained in the new design.
Schwartz says they want to offer an attraction for the residents of Greenfield, Adair County, and the surrounding communities.

The next step is fundraising. The Operation Pool Committee will develop a working timeline to guide donations and community engagement. The estimated cost of the project is between $5 and $6 million. Schwartz’s goal is to raise a full six million dollars. Olesen says the immediate goal is to raise $1.5 million in three months to apply for numerous grants.

The City of Greenfield will oversee partner relationships, design, grant writing, contracting, and construction, while the Pool Committee focuses on donor outreach and engagement. The city will offer opportunities for public input as the project approaches its funding goals.
Project timing will depend on the pace of donor support and final funding commitments.
