(Washington, DC) — The U.S. economy added more jobs than expected in September.
That’s according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ report on Thursday, which showed around 119-thousand jobs were added. That’s up from around four-thousand jobs lost in August. The BLS also said the unemployment rate came in at around four-point-four percent, which is the highest its been since October of 2021.
The report comes after the government has announced it will not be publishing its October jobs report due to the lengthy shutdown.
