(Atlantic) The Atlantic wrestling team is wrapping up its first official week of practice. As mentioned in a previous story, three seniors lead the squad: Braxton Hass, Donovan Hedrington, and D’Artagnan Hansen.
This year’s team also includes a talented group of juniors. Atlantic Head Coach Tim Duff highlights that this is a strong group of juniors with considerable experience, as many have earned multiple letters over the past few years. Carter Hadley, a two-time letterwinner, had an impressive season last year, winning 33 matches and narrowly missing out on qualifying for the state tournament.
Collin Harris, also a state qualifier and a two-time letterwinner, comes off a remarkable season with 40 wins, bringing his career total to 66 wins over the past two years.
Jayden Harter, another two-time letterwinner, won 43 matches last season and enters his junior year with a total of 71 career wins.
Kalvin Hayes is another standout; a two-time letterwinner, he won 42 matches last season, qualified for the state tournament, and heads into his junior year with 63 wins.
Draven Smith rounded out the group, winning 32 matches last season and earning a letter. Coach Duff notes that Smith showed significant improvement throughout the year.
The Trojans open the season at home against Earlham on December 4.
