(Iowa City, IA) — Kirk Ferentz continues to add to his recruiting haul for the freshman Class of 2026. After getting his potential quarterback of the future in Tradon Bessinger, Ferentz has found somebody for him to throw to. Norwalk TE Luke Brewer will stay in state and WR prospect Xavier Stinson from Florida will both play football for the University of Iowa.
Brewer chose Iowa over major programs like Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio St. according to media reports. Brewer is 6-4, 230 pounds who caught 39 passes for 532 yards and 6 TD for the Warriors this season. He also played Defensive End and led the team in tackles with 63.5, 56 solo and 8 TFLs. 247 Sports ranks Brewer as the 6th ranked prospect in the state of Iowa and is considered a four star prospect.
Brewer technically was a Junior for Norwalk this season but is eligible to graduate from high school early and will join Iowa in the fall of 2026.
Stinson had originally committed to UCLA but after the school fired Head Coach DeShaun Foster, he decommitted and flipped to the Hawkeyes over Wisconsin, Illinois and NC State. Stinson is rated by Rivals as a three star prospect, #102 in Florida while 247 ranks Stinson #82 in the Sunshine State. Stinson is 6-2, 185 pounds and is going to Vero Beach High School in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. In 2024, Stinson caught 43 passes for 740 yards and 7 TDs and helped Vero Beach reach the regional finals of the 7A playoffs.
