(Cass Co) The Cass County Board of Supervisors held a discussion this morning on whether or not they reinstate a compensation board.
In 2024, the state passed a bill to dissolve Compensation Boards. This gave the Supervisors the option to reinstate the Compensation Board or have the Supervisors assume those duties. Compensation Boards annually recommend wages for elected officials. Last year, the Supervisors voted not to reestablish the Compensation Board.
During today’s meeting, Supervisor Steve Green had these thoughts…
Supervisor Mark O’Brien…
Board Chair Steve Baier….
The board noted that they have not received any input from the other elected officials on whether or not they would like to return to the use of a Compensation Board. In the end, the board agreed to leave things as they are.
