(Audubon Co.) The Audubon County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a recent surge in scam calls related to missed jury duty. According to the department, several people have called or come into the office reporting that they were told to retrieve cash to pay a bond or turn themselves in to jail.
The Sheriff’s Office will never call and request any type of payment due to missed jury duty. Officials urge anyone who receives such a call to hang up and contact the Sheriff’s Office directly to confirm its legitimacy.
