(Louisa County) – A four-year-old child was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on Saturday after being struck by a vehicle in Wapello.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the incident occurred around 6:25 p.m. in the 400 block of Jefferson Street. Authorities say 29-year-old Kateline Marie Lilly of Wapello was turning into an alley when her vehicle hit a young girl who was in the alleyway. The vehicle then backed up and came to a stop.
AirCare transported the child to the hospital for treatment. The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office and Wapello Police Department assisted the Patrol at the scene.
