(Treynor) Treynor (9-1) travels to (9-1) South Hardin tonight with a trip to the UNI-Dome on the line. The Cardinals advanced to the Class 1A Quarterfinals with a 49-7 first-round win over Ogden, and last week took out Hinton 35-12. South Hardin topped Camanche 35-7 in round one and shut out Ridge View 20-0 in the second round.
Treynor Head Coach Jeff Casey says his team played a great game last week, in what he described as a “Super Physical” football game, against a Hinton team that went to the dome last season. The Cardinals totaled 403 yards of offense, 176 yards passing, and 227 yards rushing. Ethan Hill was 12-18 for 176 yards, Jett Sornson carried the ball ten times for 152 yards, and scored two touchdowns. Bryce McIntosh led the defense with 10.5 tackles.
Now the Cardinals find themselves playing football in November.
Treynor faces a South Hardin team that has lost only two games in the last three years, and two of those losses were to powerhouse Grund Center. Coach Casey says the Tigers throw the ball well, with 2,153 yards passing and 1,869 rushing yards.
Treynor’s offensive numbers are as impressive as South Hardin’s. The Cardinals have rushed for 2,045 yards, led by Sornson’s 1,153, and passed for another 1,653. Head Coach Jeff Casey says the game is going to come down to this….
The kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
The Class 1A quarterfinals schedule includes:

Beckman-Catholic (9-1) at Grundy Center (10-0)
