(Marshalltown) A Marshalltown woman died in a hit-and-run accident in Marshalltown.
The Iowa State Patrol reports that the accident occurred late Saturday night. Authorities say 30-year-old Melanie Katherine Nelson was crossing S. 3rd Avenue just south of the intersection with E. Main Street, and was struck by an unknown Dodge Ram pickup.
The vehicle fled the scene and is still at large.
