(Greenfield, IA) — Nodaway Valley’s boys cross country team is going back to the state tournament for the first time in 5 years. The Wolverines had an incredible run starting 10 years ago when they won three straight state titles in 2015, 16, and 17 and went to seven straight state tournaments.
Nodaway is back with a young group of runners that does not include a senior. Junior Luke Kading is the team captain and finished 18th at districts
Junior Paul Kading was 19th at districts
Freshman Everette Ehler was 43rd at districts and has earned his way to running varsity
Sophomore Josh Nelson had never competed in cross country before this fall and was 28th at districts
Sophomore Gabe Winkelmann has had the best finishes for the Wolverines and was 13th at districts
Nodaway Valley will compete in the Class 1A state tournament this Saturday in Fort Dodge — the race begins at 2:45 pm.
