(Neola, IA) — Tri Center beat Shenandoah 29-22 last Friday to earned the #3 seed out of Class 1A, District 8. This week, the Trojans visit Ridge View in the first round of the playoffs. Head Coach Steve Peterson did get two key players back from injury last week — QB AJ Harder and TE/LB Jayden Johnson both played and played well against the Mustangs. Johnson had 11 tackles and help limit Shenandoah to 105 yards on the ground. Harder was 16-24 passing for 224 yards, 2 TD and 1 INT and Peterson says he did get hit but otherwise played well
Tri Center has kind of played the entire season in survival mode — as in surviving all their injuries. It seems like it has been a different line up going each and every game. Now that key players are back and the team is as healthy as its been, Peterson hopes the Trojans can settle down and play some football
The Raptors are led by the Heilman brothers — Senior Lucas has 882 yards rushing averaging 7.2 yards a carry with 10 TD and Sophomore Derek is at 481 yards at nearly 13 yards a carry and 8 TD. Peterson also says the Ridge View has some big boys up front
Last year, Tri Center discovered IT — that is everything came together for the football team on the way to a Class A championship. Peterson says they will try to find IT again
Tri Center is 4-4, Ridge View 5-3
